Ms. Ross’s Modern Mixed Family traces four generations of an estranged, mixed-race family. The story is seen through the eyes of the matriarch. She is an African-American raped and subsequently impregnated by a white boy. The twin boys she births are given up for adoption and go on to lead very different lives. Later in life, the woman was given very valuable property on which she decides to build a museum. She decides to find the twin boys and their families to share this gift but does not expect the surprises she finds when they all gather for the museum’s opening.
